Enjoy a Well-Deserved Break with Carefree | | | | About Carefree is a multi-award-winning digital charity set up in 2017. Its mission is to offer every full-time unpaid carer in the UK the chance of an annual short break by partnering with the hospitality industry to donate its excess capacity, estimated at 1 million vacant hotel rooms per week.
Who is eligible? Full-time (30+ hours per week) unpaid carers (18+) can gain access to our Breaks Hub by direct referral from North Tyneside Carers' Centre. What carers need to know: - There is no charge for the accommodation, but there's a Β£33 admin fee covered by the carer directly at the point of making a booking request.
- The break is for the carer only. Carers are welcome to take a companion but not the person(s) they care for.
- Breaks typically consist of 1-2 nights plus breakfast for two.
- Once a carer has been referred, they may book up to one break per year until they are no longer caring.
